  • Turbulent premixed slot jet flame visualized by the level set contour G=0. The flame front is colored by the transverse velocity field u. Details with respect to this study can be found in Schlimpert et al., Phys. Fluids 28, No. 1, 2016.


  • Acoustically excited premixed flame at a low (left) and high (right) Markstein length - The flame front is visualized by the thick (detailed simulation) and dash-dotted (reduced-order modelling) contour line to compare the flame surface shape. The upstream transverse velocity field is visualized to show the effect of gas expansion on the flow (Schlimpert et al. 2015).


  • Acoustically excited premixed flame - The pocket separation induces the first sound wave, the second one is generated due to the flame pocket annihilation process (Geiser et al. 2012).
